Dr. Kenneth W. Neal is a leading dermatologist and Mohs surgeon, who has been proudly serving residents of Virginia and Washington DC. He is board-certified in dermatology, and Fellowship trained in Mohs & reconstructive surgery, laser surgery, cutaneous oncology, and cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Neal earned a BA in biology from Hampton University in Hampton, VA. He then earned his MD degree from the respected Meharry Medical College School of Medicine, located in Nashville, TN with highest honors. He completed his internal medicine internship at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC and his dermatology residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC. During his residency, he was selected for the coveted Mohs College Fellowship program, including advanced facial reconstruction and cosmetic surgical procedures. Dr. Neal went on to complete his fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Dr. Neal, along with his respected colleague Dr. Hugh M. Gloster, penned the groundbreaking CME publication known as "Skin Cancers in Skin of Color," which appeared in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. His work has been published in a number of other peer-reviewed journals, including Dermatology Clinics and Dermatologic Surgery.
Dedicated to patient education, Dr. Neal is an active member of RealSelf, where he has earned the distinction of "Silver Elite." He is also listed as a "Top Doctor" for both Botox and Restylane. Since 2011, Northern Virginia Magazine has featured Dr. Neal multiple times, as he was voted a "Top Doctor" by his peers in the medical community. In November of 2012, he was selected as one of AMERICA'S TOP DERMATOLOGIST by the Consumer's Research Council of America.
Dr. Neal is committed to expanding his own education, and giving back to the medical community. He maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Surgery (also known as the Mohs College), the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He has privileges with Stafford Hospital and Inova Alexandria Hospital. He is also active in the dermatology resident training program at Howard University Hospital.
